چکیده

Computing Silhouette View Poses Mirror normals are computed from the epipoles, principal point and focal length. These allow the orientations of the virtual cameras to be specified in the reference frame of the real camera. Camera positions are computed using the : a silhouette tangent that passes through an epipole must be tangent to the corresponding point in its projection into the opposite view. Five-view silhouette sets are combined into a single large set of silhouettes by aligning the mirror locations across sets. Scale and position are computed using the epipolar tangency constraint. epipolar tangency constraint

Creating Visual Hull Models Using Only Two Mirrors and an Uncalibrated Perspective Camera

We present closed form solutions for the focal length and pose of a camera and two mirrors that are computed directly from the silhouette outlines that appear in a single image. In the noisy case, we show how these equations can be used to form an initial parameter estimate that can be refined with a nonlinear iterative minimisation. This allows five-view visual hulls to be constructed from a s...

Reconstruction of Surfaces of Revolution from Single Uncalibrated Views

This paper addresses the problem of recovering the 3D shape of a surface of revolution from a single uncalibrated perspective view. The algorithm introduced here makes use of the invariant properties of a surface of revolution and its silhouette to locate the image of the revolution axis, and to calibrate the focal length of the camera. The image is then normalized and rectified such that the r...

Calibration, Recognition, and Shape from Silhouettes of Stones

Multi-view shape-from-silhouette systems are increasingly used for analysing stones. This thesis presents methods to estimate stone shape and to recognise individual stones from their silhouettes. Calibration of two image capture setups is investigated. First, a setup consisting of two mirrors and a camera is introduced. Pose and camera internal parameters are inferred from silhouettes alone. S...

Error analysis of silhouette coherence for camera calibration under circular motion

We present a new approach to camera calibration as a part of a complete and practical system to recover digital copies of sculpture from uncalibrated image sequences taken under turntable motion. In this paper we introduce the concept of the silhouette coherence of a set of silhouettes generated by a 3D object. We show how the maximization of the silhouette coherence can be exploited to recover...

Recovering Camera Motion from Image Sequence Based on Registration of Silhouette Cones: Shape from Silhouette Using a Mobile Camera with a Gyro Sensor

A method for reconstructing shape of an object from its silhouette using a mobile camera to which a gyro sensor is attached is proposed. In order to determine unknown camera positions at which images are taken, the pose information of the camera derived from the attached gyro sensor as well as silhouette of the object are used. An algorithm for computing the camera positions by an iterative pro...
